Society tells us that when things don’t work out we are supposed to beat ourselves up. And that is exactly what we do.
When we are experiencing frustration with our choices or decisions, we may punish ourselves. This comes in many forms, like restricting ourselves from enjoying good things or engaging in negative self-talk.
I want to offer that there is another way to handle disappointment. I want us to learn to cultivate self-trust. It is important that regardless of the outcome of our goal we will love ourselves MORE on the other side of that result.
